If you have a Power BI Pro license, you can then put the dashboard in an App. Want to know how to publish a Power BI dashboard? Follow this article step by step.
Step 1: The Requirements
Before the dashboard can be published, it is important that you have at least a free Power BI license. If you do not have one, try to get it here.
Log in to Power BI Desktop with a Microsoft account. You can do this by clicking the button indicated below.

Step 2: Publishing in Power BI Desktop
After meeting the requirements from the previous step, it is important that you have opened the dashboard you want to publish. This can be done easily by clicking ‘Publish’ via ‘Start’.

Once you click ‘Publish’, a screen will open. There you can indicate in which workspace you want to publish the dashboard. Want to know more about how to create a workspace? See the next step.
Click ‘My workspace’ and then ‘Select’. This will upload the dashboard to your workspace. When this is successfully completed, you can easily open it by clicking the highlighted link below. This opens the dashboard in your online Power BI environment.

If you have closed the above screen, you can always access the published dashboard by going to Power BI and navigating to ‘My workspace’, as highlighted below.

Step 3: Creating a Workspace
If you want to publish multiple dashboards, it is useful to structure them. It is possible to create multiple workspaces, allowing you to categorize the dashboards. You create a new workspace by clicking ‘Workspaces’ and ‘Create a workspace’ in Power BI, as indicated below. This opens a screen where you can configure the workspace. For example, you can link an image to the workspace.

Try to perform step 2 once you have created a new workspace. Now you will see that you can publish the dashboard in the new workspace. Curious about other articles in our knowledge base? For example, read here how to export a Power BI dashboard to PDF. Do you have questions? Feel free to contact us.
